The Houston chapter of Women in Aviation International is excited to announce our 10th annual Girls in Aviation Day, which will be held at the Lone Star Flight Museum on Saturday, September 21, 2024. This event promises an inspiring day where hundreds of girls, from those already passionate about flight to those experiencing planes up close for the first time, will have the opportunity to be mentored by accomplished women in the aviation industry.
This year, girls (and boys) aged 8-17 can engage in a variety of activities, including aircraft tours, flight simulations, hands-on mechanics, and drone demonstrations focused on STEM. Additionally, there will be meteorology workshops and an engaging career fair. The goal of the day is to encourage young girls to aspire to become aviators, astronauts, scientists, engineers, and leaders.
